Seasonal Maintenance

Larry Drake as Killer Santa Claus from Tales From The Crypt Ruby’s journal entries should be all caught up on by the end of the week; the unfortunate truth is, more folks download the audio version via iTunes, than come to the site looking for the individual episode entries, so we have to prioritize a bit.

FlashCast 003 will hopefully go up tonight, but it depends on how agreeable our audio producer is feeling, given her holiday scheduling. I was holding off, as some of our British friends were promising an mp3-based rant against televised talent-shows, but, understandably, Christmas has interceded.

Still, as such, I can only go with my original postulation, that the Brits loves them some X-Factor.

Flash Pulp 100 Notes

We’re rapidly approaching episode 100, which has me quite excited. While every story hasn’t been exactly what I’d like it to be, I do take some satisfaction in having written over 100,000 words in the last seven months.

I’m hoping to make #100 something a little extra special by introducing a new series into the mix – tales from another apocalypse.

No worries, however, as Ruby won’t be ending: she’s just going to have to share the post-“collapse of human society” space with a new cast of characters, and a cataclysm which, to the best of my knowledge*, fiction has never quite encountered before.

I’ll be teasing it all the way till next Monday, so watch this space.

Implication #1:

Director Alfred Hitchcock

Tonight's FP/Ruby Departed

Tonight’s Flash Pulp is delayed until tomorrow evening. I apologize. We’re doing a six-part story, our first since Red Mouth’s Legacy. It’s a Ruby Departed story on top of that,  and Ruby requires a little more effort than your average bear – specifically, we don’t have her notebook with us, and recording conditions on the road are not optimal.

We arrive home tomorrow, and you’ll be our first priority.

In an effort to make amends for the delay I’m posting up this sketch Opopanax did after Ruby Departed: Rolling On.
Zombie King

I don’t usually model the zombies after specific people, but #56 happened to be based on a close friend, (who noticed that I’d had him killed before I could break it to him gently,) so Opop zombinated his Facebook profile pic. Oddly, the original is pretty close to the sketch above – the difference is largely in the rotting.

Might I suggest you catch up on the previous Ruby stories while you wait? (Dates are in Ruby-time.)
