Thunderstorms generate some of the most fascinating combinations of natural sounds. Whereas most natural things are made up of one or two sounds, thunderstorms are an orchestra – wind and the trees and stuff it blows around, thunders, hail and rain and the objects the fall on, the water flowing on the ground and hitting pools, lots of things going on at the same time!
I’ve never thought of it that way – it’s an excellent point. You can hear the hail really start to come down at around the twenty-second mark; it was a remarkable storm to watch. I tried to get some video, as the lightning was almost constant, but my phone couldn’t adjust its focus fast enough to really capture it.
