It was fantastic!
The story about Japanese gangsters was quite interesting. Did you know that we also use the word Gangster in German, in former days more than today but anyway we too use the word for single criminals, not for gangmembers.
Just another thought about the cowboys: Once I had the chance to talk to a homeless man, he was in fact very smart and literate. He told me that he’s enjoying his kind of freedom. Maybe such guys are the cowboys of today.
A brief note to “Sound of Music” – it sounds funny, but the movie is hardly known in Austria.
I’m sorry, I have no glue about the cowboy slang in Austria, probably some kind of dialect blended with some kind of English. 🙂
JRD, don’t worry about your pronunciation of the German words and names – it’s quite good.
Thank you all for a very nice time, I enjoyed very much!
I’m looking forward to the next Flash Cast 🙂
I think you may be right about certain homeless folks; I’ve heard it argued that the distinction between a ‘hobo’ and a ‘homeless person’ is intention – if they live the lifestyle because they want to be free to roam, they’re a hobo, if they’ve simply drank their fill and lost their homes, they’re a bum.
I’m glad to hear my pronunciations aren’t too offensive! 🙂
Thank you very much for submitting all of that wonderful Austrian cowboy information – it was fantastic!
My pleasure 🙂
