Evolving Talk Radio
An odd thought came to me yesterday, pre-FlashCast, while considering the tale of Ted Williams.
Is the reason we like a deep radio-voice dispensing our news and weather related to an instinct for putting the fellow with a booming delivery at the mouth of the cave, to warn of sabre-tooth attacks?

I tend to prefer nice female voices (like Opopanax, whom I think has a great voice) but there is something about a deep male voice that lends authority. If James Earl Jones went on TV and announced that little pink bunnies were jumping out of the sea, you see a million people rushing to the beach with bags of carrots.
